Below is a link to Yalsa’s list of the best YA books of 2009. I was happy to see Judy Blundell on the list, as I met her at the LA Book Fair. She was really nice as the crowd was winding down and she had time to talk. She signed my copy of “What I Saw & How I Lied,” which was a page turner.
The Yalsa list is worth perusing if you are in the planning stages for a YA book, as I am. Or maybe looking at lists like this is poison, I don’t know. My background in journalism leads me to investigate, and I’m always shocked by writers who don’t research their chosen genre.
Since my first book is based on a true story, it’s an adventure to strike out into fiction for my second novel…
